Anti-Human Trafficking

At Nakehndan, we offer an Indigenous Anti-Human Trafficking Training Pathway. A program supported by the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA).This pathway is designed to provide training and education to front-line workers, business professionals, at-risk populations, and survivors.

Our sessions cover topics including, but not limited to, understanding what human trafficking is, how to spot warning signs of human trafficking, warning signs of human traffickers, the influence of colonization on human trafficking, and how to address human trafficking when you see it.

All our presentations are customizable to your organization/business and can be delivered both in person and online.

They are participatory in nature, and audience participation is encouraged to better engage with and understand the information.

Noojimo'iwewin - Heal

Things to keep in mind before attending a sweat:-You must be sober for ceremony, at least 2 days before and 2 days after.-Hydration is important. Please drink plenty of water on the day of lodge and the day after.-Intention is important. We encourage you to go into ceremony with your intention in mind.-Stay comfortable. Bring a towel (or two!)If you are interested in attending a Sweat Lodge, please email info@nakehndan.ca.

Teachings are how we learn and pass on our traditional knowledge and ways. Traditional Teachings are also an opportunity to (re)connect with culture. Nakehndan is proud to offer a variety of traditional teachings. Past teachings have included Family Teachings, Rattle Making, and Beading.

All upcoming teachings and workshops can be found on our Facebook page, or on our Instagram.
